Ten Questions with Guitarist Cliff Spruill.
1. When did you give your life to Christ and how did it happen?
It was in the mid 90s. I realized the way I had been living was not working and something had to change.
2. Besides God's Dirt, what other ministries have you been involved in?
I have served in Youth for Christ speaking in juvenile detention centers and I spent some time on mission in Honduras.
3. What is your favorite God's Dirt song and why?
Blood Train because it is a total rockin' celebration of salvation.
4. What is your "day job"?
I supervise the buildings inspection section for the City of Columbus, Ohio.
5. What are some of your favorite hobbies and interests?
I love building guitars and working with wood. I am into classic muscle cars and hanging with my family.
6. What and who are your greatest musical influences?
Lawrence Bishop ll and The Livestock Band, Glenn Kaiser, Lincoln Brewster, Bone Prophets, and Seventh Day Slumber.
7. What was the best gig you ever played and why?
It's a tie between Summer Heat Jam where we opened for Lawrence Boshop ll and Rally fo Rocky in Michigan where I got to jam with Glenn Kaiser.
8.What is the best advice you would give a young musician?
Always play with someone better than you.
9. What is your favorite piece of musical equipment you own and why?
My guitar. I built it myself as a tribute to my Dad. It is designed after his 1955 Chevy Bel-Air.
10. What is your favorite concert you ever attended as a fan?
Spoken, Seventh Day Slumber, and Decyfer Down. My son and I drove to Michigan for that show.
